Outrage Overload

beating

The most important thing that I have learned since the election of Donald Trump is that the left can be utterly consumed with rage about, well, anything and everything. And when I say everything, I really mean everything. I haven’t found an incident, a person on the right, a comment or even a sideways glance coming from the right that hasn’t demanded the left’s full fledged indignation and rage.

This all started the day after he was elected. The cries of how the world was going to end, that within days back alley abortions were going to start up again, that we would push granny over the cliff, that Trump will start a nuclear war have been just that. Cries. The histrionics, utter despondent rage and the outright lies that we see every day seems to have no purpose. Am I saying that you shouldn’t be outraged at things that anger you? Of course not. But I just don’t see how it is mentally healthy to be so outraged 24/7.

Many of the things that we have seen the left become apoplectic and yes, unhinged about are the very things that they have supported in the past. But now that Trump is president it is now taboo to take that stance. For example, take senator Obama in 2005 speaking about immigration:

“We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently and lawfully to become immigrants into this country.”

Wow…That seems like a pretty reasonable stance on immigration doesn’t it? Why is it now then that when a Republican utters the same words (or anything like them) the left has a temper tantrum that would make a three old with a crap filled diaper look reasonable?

The bottom line is this. It is not possible to be so consumed with so much hate and rage all of the time because you disagree with someone. It just can’t be good for you.

This constant outrage ends up having the opposite effect than what they hope for. I can tell you with most certainty that now when I watch the news and hear about a protest, I watch the first thirty seconds and if anyone proclaims that the end of the world is at hand, I change the channel. I can’t bear to watch the same idiots screaming at the sky, the mindless morons once again yelling us with righteous indignation that Trump is the most certainly the most evil person in history (without an ounce of proof that this could even possibly be true).

You folks are beating a horse that has been dead for a long, long time. Instead of playing the victim all of the time, try something new. Get your facts straight, stop making up ridiculous stories about the opposition and grow up. You will most certainly find that more people will be willing to listen to you if what you are saying doesn’t involve wearing vagina hats and shrieking at 130 decibels.

As always, if you are offended by this post or just don’t like what I have written…I don’t care.
