Here He Comes, Ready Or Not

“The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms.”
– Samuel Adams

“They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
– Benjamin Franklin

“To disarm the people…[i]s the most effectual way to enslave them.”
– George Mason

It only took about a month, but here he comes. Slow Joe is coming for our guns. Of course, you have the left saying that it won’t be so bad, he is just going to put some “common sense” measures into gun ownership that haven’t been there before. I’m sorry, but with this topic, the left doesn’t have any common sense.

What the left doesn’t realize, or refuses to understand, is that right now, more guns are on the street than people in the country. If I am law abiding gun owner and I do everything that the government tells me to already, why are you going to make my life more difficult. The Second Amendment says nothing about the number of firearms that a person can own. Since no one accurately tell us what an “assault rifle” is, maybe they should stick with sending out COVID checks. And just for the record, the “AR” in AR-15, does not mean assault rifle. I saw that on a liberal station the other day and I couldn’t help but laugh.

Making guns more difficult to purchase does not make us safer, it just tightens a governmental noose around our neck with the hopes that we will have to jump through so many hoops to buy, let’s say, a shotgun, that we will give up.

Does anyone out there honestly believe that criminals actually go to a sporting goods store, wait in line, show their ID and wait for the governments background check? If you do, you are dumber than I thought. Many states already have laws in place that help guarantee our safety. I won’t divulge the number of weapons that I have, but suffice it to say that my house will be the wrong one to pick to rob on a cold snowy night. I had background checks done in every case and of course passed.

If Slow Joe signs into law that gun manufacturers can be held responsible for gun deaths, don’t we owe it to the automobile industry to do the same? The same logic applies. The car and the gun couldn’t and didn’t act on their own, an actual human being had to be operating both of them to either get in the accident or fire the weapon. My weapons have been stored and to my surprise when they have been left alone, they have never shot anyone. I am perplexed by this.

Stricter gun laws are just more ridiculous. You turn perfectly law abiding citizens into potential criminals. If you really want to do some good, go back to the pat and frisk days where weapons were taken off the streets and out of the hands of criminals. Offer some gun safety programs for new gun owners so we don’t have incidents like those idiots who confronted the terrorists of ANTIFA and BLM and of course the morons in the NFAC who found that it was easier to shoot themselves because they had no idea how to properly use a firearm.

Now, do we have people who should not have to go through gun training (unless they want a refresher)? Yes. Law enforcement, prior military and those who can demonstrate that they know how to safely operate a firearm.

Every new gun owner has the right to own a firearm, but with that right comes the responsibility to make sure they know how to use it.

But as we well know, the left will stop at nothing because they have proven that they do not believe in the constitution. They have already started stripping folks on the right of their first amendment rights, why would they stop there?

Defending Your Home? Be Smart And Be Safe

“Most gun control arguments miss the point. If all control boils fundamentally to force, how can one resist aggression without equal force? How can a truly “free” state exist if the individual citizen is enslaved to the forceful will of individual or organized aggressors? It cannot.”
― Tiffany Madison

“Disarming law-abiding citizens will not stop unlawful citizens from obtaining one.”
― Cliff Hannold

One of the more serious discussions I have with other preppers concerns the security of your home and property. The same questions come up time and again and unfortunately it is not an easy question to answer. The main question to me is do I need to protect what is mine, and the answer to that is without a doubt yes. When it comes to my house and my family in it, I will resort to every measure that I know of to keep them safe.

So, the question then becomes, Do I need to own a gun to protect my family? Again, I answer that with an unequivocal yes. Now remember, that is a decision that I made based on my personal life experiences and where I live. I can’t make a decision for you, but hopefully I will be able to point you in a direction that will enable you to make your own informed decision.

It is imperative that if you decide that you want to own a firearm to protect your life and liberty, you should search the internet to find out what the laws are in reference to how far you can legally go to protect you and your property. Many states, including mine (NYS), have what is referred to as a Castle Doctrine. I urge everyone out there who decides that protecting their home is important to become familiar with what their individual states say.

As strange as it may sound, if after reading the law, you don’t understand something, I would consult a lawyer for clarification. I am pretty sure that “I interpreted it this way” won’t hold up in any court and you don’t want to go to prison for ridding the world of some human excrement.

For example, “New York State also has a Castle Doctrine. The doctrine states that if a persons dwelling or occupied building is being invaded or burglarized, the occupant can use deadly force without a warning shot, calling 9-1-1, or a belief that the person is armed.” That sounds pretty straightforward, yes? It does, however, come with a caveat. NYS does not have a Stand Your Ground statute meaning that if someone is on your property you can shoot first and ask questions later. You have a legal duty to retreat if you can do so safely. Now if the person or persons then follows you into your home and you are under attack, as far as I am concerned, fire at will.

Once again, it is crucial that you consult the laws of the state that you live in to save yourself from any legal issues.

Here is a nice synopsis for those of us that live in NYS (NYC is a whole other topic):

NY’s Duty to Retreat and Castle Doctrine

New York State is also governed by a “duty to retreat.” This concept does not mean surrender; but rather, before you act in self-defense you must take reasonable actions to mitigate the risk of harm, which includes fleeing and calling the police. For example, you would have a duty to retreat if someone threatened violence while you dine in a public park. The duty to retreat is essentially the opposite of a “stand your ground law,” where you are not obligated to flee the scene if threatened.

But retreat may not always be possible or required. If you are in your home, for example, there is no duty to retreat if an aggressor intrudes and threatens physical harm. This concept is guided by the “castle doctrine,” a clause that typically refers to defending yourself inside your property. It ties to the old adage that “one’s home is his or her castle,” and they should not have to abandon it amid a threat. The key difference between the castle doctrine and stand your ground, is that the former takes place in private settings, like homes or businesses.

If an intruder entered your house and you used deadly force because you believed you were in danger, the castle doctrine may be applied after-the-fact, as part of your defense in court. It is not a license to kill and – taken a step further – does not “allow” you to harm anyone. For example: luring someone into your house, shooting them, and then claiming self-defense under the castle doctrine later will not exonerate you.

Tomorrow we will talk about the type of weapon you might want to consider having in your home.

Sorry General Mattis, You Are Way Off On This One…

Having spent four years in the Marine Corps in my youth, I still identify with those Marines of the past as well as those currently serving. Obviously, I am a bit up there in age and couldn’t do many of the things that I used to be able to do, but I can say that the four years I spent serving the USA were four of the best years of my life. Being in the Corps helped shape my work ethic, my love of the Constitution and the ever lasting belief that America is the best country on earth.

It is for that reason that when I hear that General Mattis, a true legend among Marines, comes out and says that Biden should drop Trump’s idea of America First, I am sad. Sad and pissed off. I don’t know about the other services, but I joined the Marines because they are the best and that they have a mystique and a history that can not be touched by any other service.

Mattis says in an op-ed that he wrote in Foreign Affairs that, “an isolated America is a vulnerable America.” I couldn’t disagree more.

We don’t have to give up the belief that our country is the greatest country that has ever existed and still is. We can still hold that belief and engage other countries diplomatically. It is when liberal ideologies enter into the equation that our country suffers. We saw it with Obama/Biden, with a slashing of the military budget, and cutting the number of folks that want to stay in the military. These are policies that truly weaken our military and in turn make us vulnerable as a nation.

Mattis believes that, “as powerful as the United States might be militarily, its interests are best served when it can count on a group of reliable allies to further its goals instead of a threat of force.” I will say it again, this can be done without showing weakness.” He goes on to say that, “Continued failure to adequately invest in relationships with allies and partners and to cooperate with them to shape the international environment risks the erosion of this network… Even worse, it could result in the emergence of other, competing networks, presaging an international order from which the United States is excluded, unable to influence outcomes because it is simply not present.”

All of that can be accomplished while at the same time not giving in to the UN and NATO as well as the false leftist belief that we need to be a “Global” nation. Other nations that rely on force and ignore diplomacy (Iran, Iraq and Syria) won’t be fooled by a phony kumbaya moment and will use that against us. Much to the chagrin of Obama, other countries did not like us as we turned into the embarrassment of the entire world.

Other countries may not care for Trump’s version of diplomacy, but that is because he doesn’t take crap from anyone. They knew that any stupidity directed at the USA would be met with a very unequal response from our military. As it should be. Sometimes we just have to send a message when things go south. In a Harris/Biden administration, however, this will not happen. If I remember correctly, Biden was against taking out Bin laden. That alone tells you how much trouble we are in for the next four years.

But to return to my point, General Mattis is 100% wrong on this one. If anything, he should stay in his lane and do what he undoubtedly does best, and that is kill people that hate us and want to destroy our way of life. I used to think that General Mattis was just about at the same level of the beloved Chesty Puller, but not anymore.

God Bless the Marine Corps and God Bless the United States of America.

Slow Joe Wants YOUR Guns

We know from their history that the left wants to take away as many of our weapons as they can. The 2nd Amendment, to me, is what liberty and freedom are all about. With the election of Harris/Biden, it is only a matter of time before they drop the race card, if only for a second, and come after our guns.

But what will this look like? How will it manifest itself? Will they call up the school shootings of the past to rile up their base? Will they run commercials and have hearings with the victims of shootings hoping to change the minds of folks who take the 2nd Amendment to heart in order to play on the feelings of people by not using facts? Slow Joe believes that trying to tug at the heart strings of Americans will push us law abiding gun owners into his corner. He couldn’t be more wrong.

Slow Joe announced that he wants to raise 34 BILLION dollars by taxing weapons that you already own. He wants to also have a buy back program where “assault style” weapons will be purchased by the government. Another idea making the rounds is to have a national gun registry so the nanny state can keep track of those people exercising their right to own guns. He wants to make it so that if you are convicted of a misdemeanor hate crime, you can no longer own a gun. According to the left, everything the right says is a hate crime.

“Biden’s gun control plan includes a ban on the manufacture of assault weapons and high capacity magazines, which have been used in the deadliest mass shootings. It also includes the expansion of background checks and the registering of all assault weapons under the National Firearms Act, which requires a $200 tax and lengthens the background check process from about 20 minutes, to about eight or ten months. Biden is planning nationwide gun buybacks for gun owners who don’t register for the NFA and he also wants to repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, the industry’s protection from liability lawsuits.”

Even on his website it says that Slow Joe wants to enact policies that, “end our gun violence epidemic.”

At this point I believe that we may be in for the fight of our lives. Every aspect of the 2nd Amendment is under fire at this point. As I have mentioned before, the left over the last decade has eroded conservatives right to free speech. This has been methodically and self righteously accomplished by the SJW’s, people who perpetuate the cancel culture, BLM, Antifa, the woke and continued rabid PC nonsense.

The left wants to silence us because they believe we will bow down and cower in fear. They are hoping that when they come for our guns, we will just hand them over without question. Everything that Slow Joe and Harris are proposing will severely restrict our ability to own a weapon.

Instead of trying to limit and take away the rights of law abiding gun owners, try going after the criminals and the mentally ill who may be prone to violence. I check my weapons every day and they have yet to go on any kind of shooting spree or commit a crime. That would actually require a person to take the weapon, load it and then use it in a nefarious manner.

My favorite argument is when the left says, “why would you need a weapon like that to protect yourself?” The last time I check it was none of your damn business how and why I protect what is mine. It is dangerous thinking like this and the small minded response of the left that drives their hatred of the Constitution. If you don’t like guns, don’t buy one. It’s as simple as that.

Diverse? Inclusive? Not The Left

For years the left has proclaimed itself to be the arbiter of diversity and inclusion. And even though it appears that President Trump will only serve one term, the gift he has left us is priceless in that he has exposed the true left for what they are.

For the better part of five years now, the left, and not only the extreme left, through its actions and words have shown us that they are more divisive and more intolerant than the right could even think of being.

Even though it has been five days since the election, we still have no decision on who has definitively won the election. And yet, the left continues with their vile and despicable attacks on anyone who was and is a Trump supporter. Black voters for Trump are Uncle Toms, of course whites are just racist and white supremacists.

It’s a shame that even in probable victory, they still have to resort to pulling the race card to malign and put down those who disagree with them. They say that Trump is being a sore loser, but they tend to forget that Hillary, to this day, is still moaning about her loss in 2016.

I have mentioned this before, but believe it or not, those of us on the right do have the right to believe in what we believe in. That does not make us racist, it does, however, make you intolerant and small minded.

If the last few days are any indication, it appears as though the left will end up folding in on itself. The extreme left, consisting of the Quad Squad, is being blamed for the poor performance in the House and they in return continue to push their radically left agenda.

AOC actually had the nerve to tweet the following:

“Is anyone archiving these Trump sycophants for when they try to downplay or deny their complicity in the future? I foresee decent probability of many deleted Tweets, writings, photos in the future.”

That’s right folks, she’s talking about blacklisting and then “canceling” those of us who supported Trump. She is as sick and as crazy as they come.

Unfortunately, I am pretty sure that this is only the beginning of the radical left wing insanity that we are in for in a Harris/Biden administration.

My advice? Stay strong in your convictions. Don’t let the left dictate how you live your life. I know that I will continue to post as often as I need to so the hypocrisy and quite frankly, crazy behavior is exposed.

Will It Be Unity For All As Long As You Agree With Us?

In President-elect Biden’s speech to the nation, he assured us that,

“I pledge to be a President who seeks not to divide, but to unify. Who doesn’t see Red and Blue states, but a United States. and who will work with all my heart to win the confidence of the whole people. For that is what America is about: The people. and that is what our Administration will be about. I sought this office to restore the soul of America.”

Forgive me for being skeptical, but isn’t this the party that for the last (at least twenty years) has demonized anyone on the right who disagreed with them? Isn’t this the same party that has been rioting for the last nine months? The same party who has said that no type of unity can be achieved?

Now granted, I don’t agree with Trump and his tweets. I find them to be crass, vulgar and as far as I’m concerned, not presidential. But Trump’s beliefs aligned with my own. No, not your “he’s a racist, sexist and homophobe” diatribe, but instead where he stood on the military, spending, the Bill of Rights, and making sure that our police are protected.

These are the very things that the left want to take away from us. Please don’t argue that my prior sentence isn’t true because I can pull up many videos where both Biden and Harris have said as much.

I would love to believe that after 47 years President-elect Biden might accomplish something meaningful, but I remain doubtful. Throughout his campaign he bowed to the radical left and took months to condemn the riots. Why should we believe him now? Just because he said so?

I am hoping that what he says is true, that he will try to bridge the divide that exists in our country.

But actions my friends speak louder than words. Especially when everyone who disagrees with you is a racist.
